Method of controlling the sludge concentration of sludge sucked up by means of at least one first suction unit moving within a body of water, in accordance with a laid-down plan for collecting the sludge, which requires a predetermined minimum water content. Sludge having a water content higher than said predetermined content and sucked up by means of at least one movable or stationary second suction unit, or return water from a sludge deposit, is used for dilution of sludge sucked up by means of a movable first suction unit and having a water content lower than said predetermined content. Dilution is effected in such a proportion that the predetermined water content is imparted directly at the suction place to the sludge sucked up by means of said movable first suction unit. Control and coordination of the various suction units occurs on a pre-arranged plan, or a plan laid down while work is progressing, for utilisation or collection of the sludge and the water so that a minimum amount of water is recycled to the body of water. |
