A timing case cover for the encapsulation of a cam shaft drive on an internal combustion engine comprises a cylinder-head cover section and a crank case cover section. Both cover sections are attached at fixed positions to the internal combustion engine housing, separately from one another. In the parting joint situated between the cover sections, a special seal of an elastic material is inserted.
