PURPOSE:To make it simple to remodel two existing tankers into a relatively wide floating dock, by cutting and removed off the bow and stern sections of two tanker hulls and side tanks on the adjacent sides thereof so that one of the side tanks are horizontally positioned and extended between both tanker hulls to couple therebetween. CONSTITUTION:The bows and stern sections of two tanker hulls 1 and side tanks 4 on adjacent sides thereof are cut and removed off. The peripheries of the center tank top decks 7 and aggregates 8 attached to the latter in the remaining hulls 1 are cut off at positions just inside of the both longitudinal bulkheads 2, and are lowered down to the bottom sections of the hulls 1 to be rejointed thereto to obtain a double bottom structure. Then, the cut side end sections of the hull bottom sections are made to have a water-tight structure, and are formed with upward directed hook sections 9, 31 so that left and right floating dock bodies 10, 27 are obtained. Meanwhile, the left and right side ends of the cut-off side tank 4 are formed with downward directed hook sections 13 which are received by the above-mentioned hook sections 9, 31 so that an intermediate barge 14 is obtained. Thus, the above-mentioned three members 10, 14, 27 may be coupled together by means of the hook sections 9, 13, 31, thereby a desired floating dock 5 is obtained. |
