PURPOSE:To automatically adjust the gap at a printing head by only designating a duty, by vertically moving the printing head in accordance with paper thickness information corresponding to the duty fed from a host computer by reading the contents of a memory. CONSTITUTION:When information such as the content of duty and customer codes is inputted through an input part 4 of a terminal device 7, the information is transmitted to the host computer 1 through a circuit connection controlling part 3 and a circuit 2 by a main controlling part 6. In accordance with the telegram thus transmitted, the host computer 1 transmits a response telegram to the device 7. The response telegram contains information from a memory which stores paper thickness information corresponding to the content of duty stored in the computer 1, so that the gap at the printing head in a printing part 5 is automatically adjusted by only designating the duty. |
