PURPOSE:To provide a titled mold which realizes decreased thermal shrinkage, extended life and reduced cost by sandwiching a copper alloy plate under pressure with a steel plate or stainless steel plate having a specific thickness and a wear-resistant material, subjecting these plates to diffusion welding and slotting the base material side thereby forming the assembled mold for continuous casting. CONSTITUTION:An assembled mold for continuous casting is formed by sandwiching a copper alloy plate 1 under pressure with a steel plate or stainless steel plate 5 which has a reinforcing effect, is >=10mm. thick and is 90% the entire thickness and a wear-resistant plate material 2 which does not adversely affect heat conductivity and has <=5mm. wall thickness and subjecting these plates to diffusion welding to form a clad plate. Grooves 6 are machined to the plate 5 which is the base material of such clad plate. The assembled mold formed by combining such clad plates is resistant to wear, has good heat conductivity and less deformation by thermal shrinkage, decreases the amt. of the costly copper to be used and is inexpensive. |
