A signal appears to one output terminal corresponding to a combination of supplied ON-signals in the decoder and the type of ink donor sheet is discriminated by said signal. When a control part receives the supply of this discriminated result, energy to be applied to the drive circuit of a thermal head is adjusted so as to correspond to the type of ink donor sheet. The adjustment of applied energy is performed by changing applied pulse amplitude or applied voltage. |
