PURPOSE:To constitute an apparatus driven by an electric motor for emergency by reducing the number of revolution of a main engine driving power generator by varying the number of poles of said power generator and using said power generator as electric motor, thus revolving the main shaft. CONSTITUTION:When a main engine 11 is in trouble in emergency, a main shaft 14 is demounted, and a main engine 11 and a propeller 13 are separated. Then, a main engine driving power generator S/G 16 is switched to the electric motor mode, and the number of poles of the S/G 16 constituted of a synchronous machine is varied, and the synchronization speed is reduced, and the main shaft is driven by an in-ship power source. Said revolution is transmitted to the propeller 13 through gears 15g and 15a. |
