<p>An apparatus for winding a wire (W) around a toroidal core (TC) includes a core holder (11) for supporting the core (TC), moving the core (TC) in the directions of first and second axes and rotating the core (TC), first and second clamps (3, 4) for clamping one end of the wire (W), a clamp driver (2) for holding the clamps (3, 4) and moving the position thereof in the directions of the first and second axes and rotating the clamps (3, 4), a wire holder (5, 7) positioned near the core (TC) for supporting the wire (W), a detector (1 Oa, 1 Ob) for detecting the position of the wire (W) and the aperture (H) of the core (TC), and a control device (CMPU) for controlling the core holder (11) and the clamp driver (2) by the output from the detector (10a, 10b).</p><p>Also, a method for detecting a position to insert a wire (W) into an aperture (H) is disclosed, which includes the steps of imaging an aperture by a video camera (1 Oa, 1 Ob) which generates binary data from the output of the camera (10a, 10b), the binary data having an aperture-representing signal and a non-aperture representing signal, shrinking the area of the aperture-representing signal, and determining a position to insert the wire (W).</p> |
