PURPOSE:To have the satisfactory margin to the noise, etc. in working mode of a device and to attain the high production yield of a recording medium and to reduce the bit error factor, by setting each bit reproduced from a recording medium into the 1st array state in a right-after reproduction mode and then into the 2nd array state in a normal reproduction mode. CONSTITUTION:When the information bit 1 is set at 32 bits, the check bit 2 needs 6 bits for an SEC code. A word 3 consists of 38 bits. The information bit 5 is obtained by dividing the bit 1 into vertical two groups. A word 4 consists of the information bit 5, the check bit 6 of an SEC code Cq corresponding to the bit 5 and bit groups obtained by dividing the bit 2 into vertical two bit groups. The bits are arrayed again and extracted by a bit from the head one to be recorded successively on a recording medium through an interleaving operation. Thus these bits are recorded in series on the recording medium.
