PURPOSE:To form a device having high weatherability and good color reproducibility by applying an inorg. material to optical filters for various light color and providing a medium contrast control means. CONSTITUTION:Display cells or display stripe cells disposed with the optical fibers consisting of the inorg. material are monochromatic in the respective cells. At least one among red R, green G, yellow Y, cyan C and magenta M or the combination of at least one among the same and white W is used for this single color. A black grid having about several % - 20% width with respect to the cell pitch is attached thereto. The opening rate of the cells is controlled to control transmittance. The control is so executed that the opening rate is successively increased spirally from the center.
