PURPOSE:To enhance engine performance and reduce air inlet noise by installing a second connecting part, which connects a volume part and an air inlet tube and determining both the sectional area and the length of the second connecting part to optimum values so that both the volume part and inlet tube form a resonator. CONSTITUTION:A connecting tube 5 having a large sectional area is provided a control valve 7 which is driven by a negative pressure diaphragm equipment 8. By opening/closing the control valve 7, volume efficiency in which peak portions of both volume efficiency curves A and B are superimposed can be obtained. The control valve 7 is kept closed for the intermediate revolving speed region. During which time, a volume part 4 and a connecting part 6 from a resonator. |
