PURPOSE:To reduce frictional resistance at a supporting shaft part and to improve detecting accuracy by equalizing approximately the buoyancy of a pendulum body to its settling force in an inclination detector for detecting inclination by the rotation of the pendulum body. CONSTITUTION:A working room C is charged with a liquid such as water or oil and sealed. A boss part 4 of a supporting arm 3 is fixed on a supporting shaft 2 and a float part 5 and a suspending body part 6 are unitedly fitted and fixed to/on the supporting arm 3 to constitute the pendulum body B. the buoyancy based upon the volume of the pendulum body is set so as to be approximately equal to the settling force based upon its weight. A light projector 8 and a photodetector 9 detect the relative rotation of a slit 7a of a shielding part 7 which is generated in accordance with the inclination of a case body 1 to detect the inclination of the case body 1. The pendulum body B is drifted without being floated and settled, so that a load due to the settling force, buoyancy and oscillation is not almost applied to the supporting shaft 2 and frictional resistance is not almost generated between the supporting shaft 2 and a bearing part. |
