The straw is treated using an alkaline soln.. In the first stage the straw is saturated with an alkaline soln. Subsequently it is soaked with water in a quantity which is larger than the water quantity used in the first stage. In the third stage it is soaked with a circulating soln.. In the fourth stage excess liquor is rimed off and the collected solution is returned to the third stage and/or the first stage.
