PURPOSE:To increase specific thrust while reduce variation in said specific thrust due to the flow rate of a thrusting agent, by making cracked gases obtained by a catalitic reaction brought in contact with a heater to increase the velocity of gas molecules. CONSTITUTION:A closing valve 2 is operated to feed hydrazine from piping 1 to an injector 5. The hydrazine which is atomized in the injector 5 is brought in contact with a catalysis 7, being chemically decomposed into nitrogen, hydrogen, and ammonium gases. These cracked gases enter a heating chamber 12, and are brought in contact with a heating heater element 11 which is heated to approximately 2,000 deg.C, the allowable temp. limit of a heater, and thermal energy is provided to them, increasing the velocity of gas molecules. These gases are jetted out from a nozzle 8 to obtain thrust. |
