PURPOSE:To simplify the structure and reduce the manufacturing cost thereof by a method wherein the device is constituted so that the opening and closing operations of a tool holding pawl are effected by the operation of a single hydraulic cylinder through a cam while the reciprocating motion of a traversing arm, equipped with the tool holding pawls at both ends thereof, can be effected. CONSTITUTION:The tool holding pawls 29 at both ends are in spread conditions in case the arm 20 is located at the retreated position thereof as shown by the diagram. When the hydraulic cylinder 40 is extended under these conditions, only an inner sleeve 14 is slided through a rod 44 immediately before a bracket 42 is abutted against the arm 20. During this period, the cam 15 collides against the cam 35 of a moving body 34 and push out the cam 35 against a spring. According to this movement, a cam follower is pushed out, each holding pawls 29 are closed and thereby holding the tools. Thereafter, the inner and outer sleeves 14, 19 are extended integrally by the successive extending motion of the hydraulic cylinder 40, and the tool is drawn out of a bed or the like by the movement of the arm 20. |
