NEW MATERIAL:A chalcone derivative expressed by formulaI(X is halogen; R is aryl or heterocyclic group). EXAMPLE:4-Nitro-4'-monochloroacetyloxychalcone. USE:A raw material for photosensitive resins capable of giving the resin having a high sensitivity due to the absorption in the long wavelength region. PROCESS:A 4'-hydroxychalcone expressed by formula II is reacted with a monohaloacetyl chloride expressed by the formula XCH2COCl in the prsence of a solid alkaline catalyst, e.g. potassium carbonate or sodium carbonate, at 20- 100 deg.C to give the compound expressed by formulaI. |
