PURPOSE:To enable the use of a barrel polisher as a rapid planetary barrel polisher or a rotary barrel polisher, by mounting barrels on a turret to perform a planetary motion or rotate around their shafts. CONSTITUTION:A prescribed amount of workpieces and a polishing material are put in each of barrels 15a-15d, and a lid is tightly closed on each barrel. When a motor 18 with a speed reducer for a centrifugal motion is driven, a turret 5, 5a is turned in a direction (a) so that the barrels 15 are revolved together with gearboxes 8 around the shaft 2 of the turret and shafts 9 are rotated in a direction (b). The barrels 15 are thus revolved around the turret shaft 2 and rotated around the shafts 9 to cause the mass in each barrel to centrifugally flow to perform a rapid planetary barrel polishing on each workpiece. When rotary shafts 11 and large bevel gears 12 are turned by a geared motor 10, the barrels 15 are vertically rotated to perform a conventional rotary barrel polishing on each workpiece. |
