LOCATING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To prevent tooth surfaces of a rack from dropping and depositing of foreign matters and dust with a simple construction by locating a pinion between the rack and a strip. CONSTITUTION:A pinion 17 secured rotatably to a drive body 6 is rotated by a rack meshing with the pinion. The tooth surfaces of the rack 7 are protected from fallen substances and foreign matters by a strip stretched above the tooth surface of the rack 7. Further, the pinion 17 is disposed between the strip 9 and the rack 7 so that the strip 9 does not interfere with a drive mechanism.
