PURPOSE:To record a character data such as date to a blank part by using a recording head existing in the blank part other than a recording medium region after the scanning start or before the scanning end in the arranging direction of plural recording heads. CONSTITUTION:Picture information for one line's share stored in line memories 41-1-41-4 and character data such as date are extracted according to a command signal of a printer system controller 38. Further, the signal is converted into analog quantity by recording head drive circuits 42-1-42-4 and the recording for one line's share is conducted by the recording heads 43-1-43-4. After the end of recording, a recording medium 46 is fed by one line's share in the direction of the arrow (a). The recording for one pattern is finished by repeating the above operation. The character data such as date is recorded to the blank part 47 while picture is recorded to a pattern recording region 45 of the recording medium 46 in this case. |
