PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration in the S/N at recording/reproducing and to avoid an inverting phenomenon by processing a signal without applying the profile correction of optical information to a luminance signal and recording the processed signal with FM modulation after pre-emphasis and clipping. CONSTITUTION:The optical information from an object is photoelectric-transduced and processed without applying the profile correction to the luminance signal through a low pass filter 306. The signal is FM-modulated and recorded magnetically after pre-emphasis and clipping. This recorded signal is FM-demodulated, de-emphasized and the signal subject to the profile correction is reproduced after passing through a low pass filter 319. Since no profile emphasis is applied to the luminance signal from an image pickup section 1A, the signal level inputted to a recording section 2 is increased. |
