Amounts of air (+/- DELTA Q tev/llr) are supplied across a corresp. control of the tank venting valve (TEV) or the idling adjuster (LLS). By observing the answer back signals produced by r.p.m. alteration: r.p.m. constant, r.p.m. diagnosed greater than altered r.p.m. and r.p.m. diagnosed less than altered r.p.m. or air amount (- DELTA QLM) detected across the air amount gauge (LM) of the fuel measuring control gauge, depending on the operational efficiency, the respective hardware chain of the idling regulator or the tank venting valve is closed. With the operation of the IC engine, the corresp. control of the elements, idling adjuster (LLS) (16) and tank vent valve (TEV) (20), in the range of the idling regulation or tank venting provides more or less amounts of air to the inlet section of the IC engine. Comparison appts. is provided which compares the r.p.m. before air alteration with the diagnosis r.p.m.. An r.p.m. alteration indicates either a failure of the venting valve or idling adjuster. |
