The invention relates to a profiled longitudinal beam, especially used for the longitudinal reinforcement of a multi-functional container. According to the invention, the profiled longitudinal beam comprises a vertical flange 3 at its upper part on which is fixed the lateral wall 4 of the container, a lower horizontal flange 5 on which are fixed the cross members 7 of the container, a web 9 having the shape of a corner arranged in such a way as to form a cutout directed towards the inside 6 of the container and an internal rim 12 in which the end of a reinforcement 14 is immobilised which reinforcement is placed in the area of the grasping points of the container.
