PURPOSE:To reduce the weight over the entire part of a device and to make transportation and handling easy by constituting the device in such a way that a small amt. of an inert gas is supplied to the welding part of a pipe to be welded from a small-sized and light weight box for supplying the inert gas. CONSTITUTION:A device is constituted of a bearing 7 provided with a leg A so as to be fixed freely attachably and detachably to the center in a pipe 5 to be welded, a pipe 3 for supplying an inert gas which is supported relatively rotatively with the pipe 5 by said bearing 7, a small-sized and lightweight box 1 which is fixed to the piping 3 and supplies the inert gas to the part to be welded of the pipe 5 and a weight 2 for balancing said box. Either the pipe 5 or the box 1 is turned to supply the inert gas to the working part.
