MANUFACTURE OF TUBULAR SEPARATOR

PURPOSE:To seal reliably while to facilitate automation by holding one end of a tubular separator wound around a rod electrode with a pair of jigs then welding the sealed section. CONSTITUTION:Separator member made of unwoven cloth of polypropylene is wound around a concentric electrode 1 to form a tubular member 2. Then a pair of jigs 3 having V-shaped ends are arranged while facing each other at one end 2' to close one end of the tubular body 2 thereafter supersonic horn is applied onto the closed portion to weld and seal said portion. Since the jigs 3 is provided with sealing function and holding function of the sealed portion during welding, it can be automated easily to enable reliable sealing.
