Two metal tubes (6) are joined to each other by metal rods through an intermediate insulation layer (18) resistant to fire and to temp. The rods are welded at their two ends, to the tube faces turned towards the insulation layer, so that tubes and rods must be made of material that can be welded. The insulation layer is a perforated slab the holes of which are traversed by the connecting rods. The layer is made of a solidified material that can be cast and the rods can be solid steel rods or pieces of steel tube.
