The vehicle-engine exhaust ducting, esp. for a manifold with several branch-stubs for connecting to the cylinder head outlets, has an inner element of heat-resisting steel sheet inside a casing insulated from it. That element (1) is axially flexible, at least in sections, and supported at least locally by the rigidly-constructed casing (14). To be partic. effective, the casing is axially stiff and supports the element axially. Usefully it also is of sheet steel, partic. structural steel; its stiffness may be increased by longitudinal ribs. Engagement between element and casing is positive.
