Mesomorphic, fully aromatic polyesters which contain cocondensed radicals of p-hydroxybenzoic acid, isophthalic acid, hydroquinone and 3,4'- or 4,4'-dihydroxybiphenyl, -diphenyl ether or -diphenyl sulphide have excellent mechanical properties, but nevertheless good processing properties.
