<p>PURPOSE:To improve the reading reliability with a bar code by enclosing a bar code with a mark and recognizing the mark to estimate accurately the area where the bar code exists and to reduce the effect of an environmental condition etc. to a picture. CONSTITUTION:A bar code 17 consisting of plural bars 12 is enclosed with marks 13-16. Such a code 17 is attached to an object 1 and image picked up by a camera 3. The picture information obtained from the camera 3 is processed by horizontal and vertical synchronizing signal detecting circuits 4 and 5 and a circular center detecting circuit 6. Then the horizontal and vertical synchronizing signals are detected together with the center positions of the marks 13- 16 respectively. While a binary coding circuit 7 binary codes the picture information to store it to a picture memory 8. The binary coded information on the code 17 stored in the memory 8 and the mark position information detected by the circuit 6 are applied to a microcomputer 9. Then the computer 9 detects accurately the code 17 out of the areas of the marks 13-16. Thus the effects of the environmental conditions are eliminated to the pictures.</p> |
