PURPOSE:To hold stably an oscillation characteristic by making the generation time of each pulse shorter than a time required for feedback of the luminous flux, which is generated from a semiconductor laser, as a part of a synthesized laser luminous flux and making the extinction time longer than said required time. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber gyroscope 10 is provided with a pulse generating means 18, which generates a series of pulses successively, and an interrupting means 17 which permits interruptedly a driving signal generating means 14 to give a driving signal to a semiconductor laser 12 in response to pulses, and the generation time of each pulse is made shorter than the time required for feedback of the laser luminous flux, which is generated from the semiconductor laser 12, to the semiconductor laser 12 as a part of the synthesized laser luminous flux, and the extinction time of each pulse is made longer than this required time. Thus, a stable state is always held independently of the feedback part of// the synthesized laser luminous flux, and no errors are mixed in detection results due to an optical dividing and synthesizing means. |
