PURPOSE:To record an image in colors with high resolution and little misregistration of colors, by providing a movable positioning means which is reciprocated over a recording length while holding the leading end of a recording paper when moving the paper for recording, and a driven roller which is rotated following up to the paper. CONSTITUTION:A thermal head 11 is moved to a position 11A while pinching the recording paper 15 by levers 25 of a movable unit 19, a platen roller 17 is rotated in the direction of an arrow B to remove a sag of the paper 15, and the unit 19 is moved to a position 19A by a wire 21 to perform initial positioning of the paper 15. Then, the head 11 is lowered to the position 11, an ink sheet 12 and the paper 15 are pressed against the roller 17, a driving clutch for the roller 17 is disengaged, and the head 11 is operated to generate heat while moving the unit 19A in the direction of an arrow C, whereby the sheet 12 is heated and thermal transfer recording in the first color for color recording is performed. Therafter, thermal transfer recording is repeated in the second color and the third color in a similar manner. Accordingly, reproducibility of recording position in plural times of recording is enhanced. |
