An electronic closure device is proposed in which a coded key card having a metal carrier is used for opening and locking and which has a device for easily entering a code provided by the key card, primarily for use as a device for closing doors which are to be operated for a long period by the same users. A key card made of a carrier material (10) contains on both sides a code which is applied at the manufacturing works and consists of perforations, arranged in matrix fashion, in an insulating layer (11) in which conductive areas (13) are printed which, as a result of an insulating island (12) also printed on the carrier, do not make electrical contact with the carrier or make electrical contact with the carrier as a result of omitting said insulating island (12). The electronic system of the closure device has a device (2) on the inside of the door which can be used to set the closure device to the "reprogramming" state, after which these codes can be written into a memory (1) by simply inserting the key card. <IMAGE>
