PURPOSE:To facilitate the formation of a multi-nozzle while shortening an ink filling time, by separating the flowline system of a pressure wave generating means and an ink filling flowline system. CONSTITUTION:A capacity chamber 13 is provided between the nozzle 10 and the ink chamber 11 of an ink jet head and an ink supply orifice 13-1 and a second ink supply part 13-2 for communicating the capacity chamber 13 and a second storage container 25 are provided. By this structure, an ink filling time is made extremely short to enable high speed printing. In addition, by providing a common thin layer ink supply part 15 for supplying ink to an ink chamber 11 by capillary action between the ink chamber 11 and an ink sump 16, an ink equilibrium state during non-recording can be held only by the ink surface tension force at the leading end the nozzle 10 and the arrangement of a large number of the nozzles 10 is enabled. |
