For discharging material from a silo with a silo floor which has a discharging worm in a channel open at the top and is passed over by arms, the arms are no longer to be rotated, but are instead only to be pivoted through as small an angle as possible. Discharging output can be increased, energy consumption lowered and the outlay involved in the device can be reduced in this way.
