A device for the synthesis of polynucleotides comprises a reactor device (2) which is mounted on the front plate (1) of an apparatus body (A); the device furthermore has a receiving arrangement (1b, 30a, 30b), which is located in an inspectable position on the outside of the housing (B) of the apparatus body (A), to receive detachable bottles which are filled with liquids such as, for example, a reagent or solvent, which are necessary for the reaction to synthesise the polynucleotides. The device furthermore comprises a selection valve device which is located in a passage between the bottles (4-9) and the reactor device (2) in order selectively to connect one of the bottles to the reactor device, and an introduction device (18) for introducing the liquids into the reactor device.
