The invention relates to a method of producing a reproduction of facing panels, especially of glazed or unglazed tiles or the like, with the predetermined colour and/or pattern of a sample facing panel. The object of the invention is to permit such a reproduction economically and in a simple manner. In order to achieve this object, the invention proposes that a colouristically accurate colour photograph of the sample facing panel be produced, in the original size, and that this colour photograph be provided, on the visible surface, with a scratch-proof protective layer of glass or a transparent plastic.
