PURPOSE:To prevent the dielectric breakdown of ceramic of an ignition plug by providing a control circuit, reducing the requested voltage when the requested voltage of the ignition plug is larger than the allowable voltage of the same. CONSTITUTION:When the value of requested voltage of the ignition plug 5 has exceeded the allowable voltage value of the same, a spark advance correcting circuit 10 corrects the timing of an ignition signal S1. The ignition signal S1 is controlled by a spark advance operating circuit 8 so as to obtain the optimum spark advance in accordance with the revolution and the load of the engine, therefore, the spark advance of the ignition signal S1' is deviated from the optimum spark advance when the spark advance is regulated by the spark advance correcting circuit 10 and the operating pressure in a cylinder or a combustion pressure is reduced. Accordingly, the output of the engine drops slightly, however, the value of requested voltage of the ignition plug 5 is reduced and the ceramic of the plug 5 may be protected. |
