PURPOSE:To provide a thermal recording material having excellent color forming sensitivity, excellent developed color density and favorable thermal head running property, by a method wherein a coating liquid comprising a leuco dye, an acidic color developer and a sensitizer mixedly dispersed in a binder resin solution is applied to a base. CONSTITUTION:A coating liquid is obtained by dissolving or dispersing (A) a color forming component consisting of 10-15pts.wt. of a leuco dye, e.g., crystal violet lactone, and 10-15pts.wt. of an acidic color developer, e.g., phenol, (B) 1-15pts.wt. of a di-n-(16-18C)alkyl ether, e.g., di-n-hexadecylphenyl ether, as a sensitizer and (C) 10-20pts.wt. of a binder resin, e.g., gelatine, in a solvent which dissolves the component C but does not dissolve the component A, e.g., water. The coating liquid is applied to the base in a thickness of 0.005-5mm., and is dried to provide a thermal color forming layer having a thickness of 5-15mum. |
