PURPOSE:To obtain an ionomer magnet having excellent magnetic characteristic by applying a magnetic field to the dissolved material of magnetic substance so that the degree of magnetic orientation exceeds the specified value in order to give orientation to the ferrite powder having anisotropy and then hardening it by cooling. CONSTITUTION:Strontium ferrite (in average gain size of 1.2mum) which has been confirmed to have the saturated magnetic flux density of 4.400 Gauss or more by the 4piI coil method is mixed with the ionomer resin and stabilizer in the specified composition by the Henschel mixer and these are kneaded by a 40mm. extruder order to obtain a pellet. Thereafter, while the pellet thus obtained is heated and dissolved for the wanted orientation, a magnetic field is applied thereto and then it is cooled for soldification. An ionomer magnet thus obtained shows exellent outline and it is not broken even when it is dropped on the concrete floor from the height of 3m shows a high magnetic performance and a high degree of orientation.
