Window or door consisting of a fixed frame (1) and an opening frame (2), which frames (1, 2) are made from metal profiles (11, 12, 21) and are sealed with respect to one another by means of elastic strips (16, 26, 28), the opening frame (2) being provided with a recess in which there is fitted a glass pane (3), if appropriate comprising several layers. The opening frame (2) is made of a single metal profile (21) and a part (14) of the fixed frame (1) faces the edge area of the glass pane (3) and has an external sealing strip (16) which bears against the opening frame (2) in the edge area of the glass pane (3). <IMAGE>
