<p>A series of regularly spaced cavities (6), each receiving a microprocessor (27), is constructed in a sheet (1) of thermoplastic material by thermo-pressing. A metal coating (11) is deposited inside these cavities (6). Magnetic tracks (15) are applied by impression to the face of the sheet opposite the cavities (6), and the other face of the sheet is printed. A thermoplastifiable lacquer (19,20) is then applied to both faces of the sheet (1), except inside the cavities (6). The memory cards (10) are cut out from the sheet thus obtained and the microprocessors (27), in chip form, are inserted and fixed inside the cavities (6).
