PURPOSE:To produce L-alanine in high purity with a simple process, by separating L-alanine crystal from the enzymatic reaction liquid in the presence of an alkali metal after the completion of the reaction. CONSTITUTION:L-Alanine is produced from fumaric acid and ammonia using an immobilized microorganisms by a conventional method. In the above process, the solution after the completion of the enzymatic reaction is treated e.g. with activated carbon in the presence of an alkali metal such as sodium, potassium, etc., concentrated, and crystallized to obtain L-alanine crystals. |
