The inner tube is made of a material which either emits no or very little material from the tube to the infusion liquid (or vice versa), e.g. polyethylene. This is radiation crosslinked to increase the melt temp. of the inner tube. The outer tube is a strong, flexible polymer esp. polyvinyl chloride or polyurethane which is applied to the inner tube as a melt. The inner tube can have an inside layer of a more highly crystalline character than the remainder of the inner tube. |
