PURPOSE:To separate ground clutter from a moving target accurately by comparing amplitudes of filter outputs from a group of Doppler filters to detect reflected waves from the maximum of the filter outputs. CONSTITUTION:A reflected wave received with a Doppler radar via an A/D converter 1 is processed with a clutter removing filter 2 for removing reflected waves from a ground clutter and is fed to a group of Doppler filters 3 for separation to a line spectrum. Amplitudes of filters of the group 3 are compared with each other by a mutual amplitude comparator circuit 5 to perform the detection of the Doppler filter whose output is the maximum. The reflected wave outputted from the Doppler filter is selected as a moving target reflected wave and the ground clutter varies according to the speed of an aircraft. This eliminates the need for setting any fixed threshold to separate the ground clutter accurately from a moving target even though a part of the ground clutter is left after the processing with the filter 2. |
