PURPOSE:To enhance wear resistance and arc resistance by employing as at least one of a material for commutator segment or a material for a slip ring and a material slidably contacted with the slip ring a specific alumina-dispersed reinforcing copper alloy. CONSTITUTION:Alumina-dispersed reinforcing copper alloy is used for one or both of a pair of materials for forming a slide current collectors, i.e., a material for a commutator segment and a material for a brush slidably contacted with the segment. This alloy dispersively contains 0.1-5wt% of Al2O3 in Cu-base, its hardness is increased by the dispersion effect of the hard Al2O3, thereby improving the wear resistance and heat resistance. |
