PURPOSE:To simply and readily form an accurate gas coolant passage by forming a heat exchanger in double cylinders, mounting a spiral string-shaped packing between the inner cylinder and the outer cylinder to form a spiral gas coolant flow passage. CONSTITUTION:A heat exchanger 1 is formed in double cylinders 10, 11. A spiral groove 12 is formed on the outer periphery of the cylinder 11. A stringlike packing 13 is mounted in the groove 12, the outer periphery of the packing is press- bonded to the inner periphery of the outer cylinder, thereby forming a spiral gas coolant flow passage 14. The end 15 of the cylinder 11 is formed in a tapered shape, a tapered hole 16 which is concentric with the taper of the cylinder 10 is formed to engage the both cylinders 10, 11. The base 17 of the cylinder 11 is engaged to be substantially concentric with the cylinder 10. The both ends of the cylinder 11 are welded to the cylinder 10 and integrated. |
