A method for preparing a glycosyl-urea containing feed supplement for ruminants comprises subjecting an aqueous sucrose medium to enzymatic hydrolysis in a temperature range of 40-85 DEG C and a pH range of 4.0-7.0, and condensing of the sugars released with urea in acidic conditions in a temperature range of 70-85 DEG C and a pH range of 4.0-5.0. A feed supplement for ruminants containing glycosyl-urea and fructose, in which the ratio of sugars content to sugar degradation products is above 3.0, the ratio of glycosyl-urea content to sugar degradation products is above 3.0, the ratio of glycosyl-urea content to urea content is above 3.0 is also provided. |
