The chair has a frame, seat (3) and back-rest (6) fixed to the frame on a level with the sitter's elbows. The back-rest (6) consists of a top (6) part extending above the attachment of the back-rest to the frame; and a bottom backrest part (5) extending below the fixture-point. The two back-rest parts (5,6) slope together as seem from the sitting position. A plate spring (7) is fixed to the backrest part (2) of the frame, and has a flat sprung arm (8) fixed to the bottom backrest part (5).
