PURPOSE:To cut a record paper in a short time by varying the diameter of a cam to make a movable cutting edge swing through an arm at the time of cutting said record paper. CONSTITUTION:A cam 4 interlocked with a cutter driving motor is rotated counterclockwise and the number of revolution of the motor is reduced to be a low-speed rotation by means of a signal of a detector 5 which detected the smaller diameter part 4b of the cam 4. The larger diameter part 4a of the cam 4 rotating at the low speed is brought in contact with one end 6a of an arm 6, which, in turn, is depressed downward with the rotation of the cam 4 making the arm 6 rotate clockwise centering around a shaft 3a. And the U-type recess 6b part of the arm 6 is moved upward pushing up the pin 7b of a movable cutting edge 7, which is engaged with the recess 6b, and the movable cutting edge 7 is rotated counterclockwise around its center 7a, cutting off a sheet of already recorded paper 9 in cooperation with a fixed cutting edge 8. After this cutting operation is over, the rotation of the motor is returned to the former high-speed rotation, and the smaller diameter part 4b of the cam 4 is brought in contact with the end 6a of the arm 6, pulling the movable cutting edge 7 by the force of a tension spring 14 and rapidly restoring the cutting edge 7 to its original position. |
