PURPOSE:To obtain easily a fiber reinforced composite metallic material (FRM) having uniform quality by pouring a molten metal under pressure into a mold in which short fibers, whiskers, etc. of reinforcing fibers stuck with an org. material decomposable at the molding temp. are packed. CONSTITUTION:An org. material which decomposes at the molding temp. is stuck to short fibers, milled fibers or whiskers which are reinforcing fibers. Said short fibers, etc. stuck with the org. material are packed in a desired amt. into a mold for molding. The melt of a matrix metal is poured under pressure into the mold packed therein with such short fibers. The FRM having uniform quality is thus easily obtd. |
