A method of forming, filling and hermetically sealing a container in which a thermoplastic lid is hermetically sealed to a paperboard container body while the container body is in an upside down orientation, with the container then being filled through the opposite upper end while the container is still in the upside down orientation, and with the filled container then being closed by means of flaps at the opposite end.
